Hello dear friends! It’s almost the new year! Can you believe it? 2013 was jam-packed full of so many wonderful, amazing, awful, too good, why did I do that?, lovely, why did I say that?, tearful, precious, lets do it again, moments. How about you? Was your year full of laughter, or full of sadness? Did you leave hearts unhealed, and wounds not forgiven? Was it the best year, or do you wish for a do over? Lots of circumstances can either leave us sending 2013 off with a cordial tip of the hat, or can leave us full of emptiness.

Is that you? Have you had thoughts the past month, week, or day that maybe your year was empty? That you either didn’t accomplish everything you thought you should, or maybe it was a year full of bad news & sadness. Whether that describes your year, or maybe it was the best year yet, can I give you two rather small, but over-all, incredible words? Two words to send you off into this new year. I’m even going to take a guess, that you have heard of them before. These two words will change you. They will knock your socks off & leave you wanting more. Are you ready? Here it goes…

Peace & Joy

I told you they were good!! I don’t make stuff like that up.

I pray that whatever this past year was to you, that you can look forward to 2014 craving more peace &  more joy in your lives. Crave that sweet Savior of ours even more. Seek Him even more, and rest in all He is. Because after all, He IS peace & He IS Joy. Rejoice in the fact that, whether you didn’t do everything you wanted, you made too many mistakes, or enjoyed every moment of the last year, we serve a God who is constant. Who is the same as He was 2000 years ago. Rest in the fact that He will be the same in the new year. He cares for you, He cherishes you, and you are every bit of precious to Him. He doesn’t look at your face and rank you in what you do each year, He looks at you as a child of His, that He dearly loves. Rest in His peace & seek His joy.

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.                                                                                                                                                      ~Isaiah 9:6

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  ~Romans 15:13
